Will FEAT of Oregon provide treatment for my child?

No. However, FEAT of Oregon will provide information and referrals to begin an intensive behavioral program.

What can FEAT of Oregon do for me?

FEAT of Oregon members have a common interest in helping their children. Members provide emotional support through shared experiences and share information through networking via a email listserve, monthly planning meetings, seminars, conferences, and presentations. FEAT of Oregon has a resource library of teaching materials and references.

What can I do for FEAT of Oregon?

Become active in the organization by sharing your time and talents to help FEAT of Oregon achieve its goals. Activities that FEAT of Oregon needs continual volunteer help with include:

  • Parent Support- answering FEAT phone messages
  • Newsletter editing and desktop publishing
  • IEP & IFSP assistance/Advocacy
  • Therapist recruitment
  • Training
  • Fundraising/Grant writing
  • Lending library (housing/tracking/donations)
  • Website updates: http://www.feator.org
  • Email list maintenance
  • Finding speakers and organize meetings at which speakers talk
  • Serve as a board member
  • Plan workshops and conferences

Who belongs to FEAT of Oregon?

FEAT of Oregon is open to all persons interested in improving services for children with autism and support for the families of autistic individuals. This may include parents, relatives, friends and professionals.
